I grew up one block from Gary in North Wildwood and we were friends our entire lives. We had more fun than any two kids should have had, From mini bikes, boats and cars to swimming in the bay and the ocean. Gary was a friend to anyone who needed one. I will treasure the memories for the rest of my days. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially me.

Gary will always be remembered as a kind, loving man who placed the needs of others before his own. He is a true friend and brother and his friendship spanned over three decades. May God bless him and his wonderful family.

Mr & Mrs Schmidt, Lori and Heidi,
I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Despite several moves, Gary and I always stayed in touch. From driving me to high school, to teaching me how to fix cars, to taking me flying, and to being in my wedding, he was always one of my very best friends.
Please remember, and take some comfort in knowing that he was loved, and that his warm and friendly personality enhanced the lives of so many of us kids from Wildwood. Your home was always so welcoming and you helped point us all in the right direction, and we're all forever grateful.

Hey brother (you always called me that). Always a bright smile at the ready, generous to a fault. I think we could have circled the world on our bikes with the miles we put in. You showed me how to fish (I was lousy)how to water ski, (I was worse), you seemed to be able to do almost anything. I can picture you on the slalom waterski, zooming in the marshes, making it look easy. Or fixing my brother's flat with the speed and facility of an indy pit crew. Or building some advanced construction project in 7th grade show while I struggled with a hand plane. And best of all, you knew all of the 3 stooges bits, including the interlocking arm, secret salute.
You also were supportive of my future career, praising my work, telling me I'd be a great success when I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing. The world is a lesser place without you.
