Obituary of Elio E. Pizza
On Wednesday May 19th, 2022, Elio Pizza, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 89 surrounded by his family.
Elio was born in Ambler, PA to Alfonso and Nicolena (Falcione) Pizza. In 1953, Elio and his family moved to North Wildwood where they opened A&LP Foods where he proudly worked for 70 years. Elio also served for the Volunteer North Wildwood Fire Department beginning in 1959, where he held positions of Captain and President.
He married Jean (Lizzi) Pizza, who he lovingly called "Tootsie". They enjoyed traveling the globe and taking long road trips, probably listening to one of his favorites: Johnny Cash. Elio also had many fond memories of his hunting expeditions with his best friend, Bob Thompson.
Elio's death is preceded by his parents and 9 siblings: Mike, Evelyn (Mortorano), Gene, Celio, Valdo, Stanley, Louie, Edith (Mortorano), and half-sister Louise. He is survived by his 3 daughters: Linda Monzo (Joseph), Elisa Bradshaw (James), and Denise Schlett (Laurence); 6 granddaughters: Natalie, Laura, Jessica, Abby, Taylor, and Lily; and 4 great-grandchildren: Luca, Rosalie, Gus, and Arthur.
He had a passion for cooking paired with a good bottle of wine. We will never forget when Pop finished eating a delicious meal, he would make a toast saying, "Take me now Lord, i'm ready!"
Pop you are now truly home with the Lord, Rest in Peace.
