I remember that I had an R and R flight to Hawaii to be with my parents. My mother had always wanted to go to Hawaii. I received notice from the Red Cross that my mother had a heart attack and could not make the trip. I had made some friends in Malasia during some training so I wanted to change my R and R to Singapore. I went looking for the officer in charge to get the flights changed. I met Vince and he was able to get the flights changed. But the flight was not scheduled for a couple of days so he drove his jeep to see the sights and get a room. I had never been in Da Nang before. It was like a mini R and R. He was very helpful and gracious.

Q: How did you meet Vincent? A: I met Vince at OCS at Ft. Benning way back in '67. Reconnected with him several years ago when 7 of the OCS class met for dinner in Philadelphia.. And since then have emailed back and forth occasionally.. Great, Great guy, sorry for your loss Paul Pillion
